Lambert Park Lifts
Lambert Park in Hobart’s Sandy Bay now has a brand-new walking bridge in place, and its arrival to the site was something different! The old wooden bridge was severely damaged in the May 2018 floods and Tasmanian construction firm AJR Construct were tasked by the City of Hobart to erect a new steel bridge to provide a safer pedestrian connection across the Lambert Rivulet. After the old bridge was flown out, the prefabricated span of the bridge was lifted by a helicopter from a dedicated site within the park, carefully descended through the canopy and placed on concrete footings.
