Helicopter support for fire operations in Tasmania over the 2018/19 summer season. 

Tasmania had a flat-out fire season after an exceptionally dry summer and large dry-lightening event on the 15th of January that set off several blazes in remote parts of Tasmania. Our helicopters have been working across the state on operations from Huonville, Hobart, Zeehan and Maria Island. Operations ranged from direct attacks on fire fronts using Bambi Buckets (1000L buckets that are slung beneath the helicopter) to remote fire crew insertion to fire-ground mapping.
